Russell’s Baku pole sets up crucial Azerbaijan Grand Prix test
George Russell dominated qualifying for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix and secured pole by more than eight-tenths over Charles Leclerc. He began the weekend 81 points behind Mercedes teammate Kimi Antonelli. Antonelli’s Q1 contact with the Turn 1 inside wall left him 16th and set for a rear-grid start. At Monza, Antonelli recovered from the back to beat Russell by nearly four seconds.
