Mammoth's Lamoureux Sidelined 4-6 Months After Shoulder Surgery
Utah Mammoth defenseman Maveric Lamoureux had surgery Monday to repair a dislocated shoulder and is expected to miss four to six months. He will begin the season on injured reserve, with a possible return around late January at the earliest. The 22-year-old has played 20 career NHL games and spent most of last season with AHL Tucson.
Maveric Lamoureux, 22, was chosen 29th overall by the Arizona Coyotes in 2022. The Laval, Quebec, native is a 6-foot-6 right-shot defenseman who has appeared in 20 NHL games, recording one goal, three assists and 44 penalty minutes. Most of last season came with AHL Tucson, where he posted five goals and 20 points across 65 contests.
Utah's opening-night defense includes John Marino, Mikhail Sergachev, MacKenzie Weegar, Nate Schmidt, Andrew Peeke, Dmitri Simashev and Nick DeSimone. Lamoureux was listed on injured reserve with an upper-body issue. The Mammoth begin Thursday against Chicago, and his earliest possible return is late January.
