Ducati North America Applauds Ferracci’s AMA Hall of Fame Induction
Ducati North America announced that Eraldo Ferracci has been inducted into the 2026 AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame. Ferracci, an Italian-born racer and team owner, founded Fast by Ferracci in 1980 and later led Ducati’s first U.S. factory road racing effort. His team won World Superbike titles with Doug Polen in 1991 and 1992, plus AMA Superbike crowns with Polen in 1993 and Troy Corser in 1994.
Italian-born Ferracci competed in Italy in the 1960s and relocated to the U.S. in 1967. He later set drag-racing records across the 1970s and 1980s before launching Fast by Ferracci, Inc. in 1980. Ducati selected him in 1988 to build its first U.S.-based factory road-racing squad.
That operation earned World Superbike crowns with Doug Polen in 1991 and 1992, then AMA Superbike titles with Polen in 1993 and Troy Corser in 1994. Freddie Spencer presented the Hall honor; his last professional victory came in 1995 at Laguna Seca on a Fast by Ferracci Ducati 916.
Ferracci’s induction may raise public awareness of motorcycle racing history and Ducati’s American legacy. Fans, collectors, and industry professionals could see renewed interest in Fast by Ferracci-era machines and stories. For Ducati and current teams, the honor may reinforce brand heritage and fan engagement, potentially drawing more attention to MotoAmerica and historic racing.
