Apes Hill Barbados has been included in Golf.com/GOLF magazine’s Top 100 Golf Resorts in the World for the first time. The publication also recognized the resort for Best Lodging, citing its new Hilltop and Courtyard villas with private pools. The property features a Ron Kirby-designed par-71 championship course and a nine-hole par-3 layout.

The Barbados property also received a Best Lodging nod, helped by new Hilltop and Courtyard villas, both with private pools and gardens. Its Ron Kirby-designed par-71 championship course sits alongside Little Apes, a nine-hole par-three layout.
The 475-acre community rises roughly 1,000 feet above sea level, offering Atlantic and Caribbean views and access to the Scotland District. It hosts an annual Staysure Legends Tour event, with Ian Woosnam as ambassador and host. Other features include an island-green 19th hole, a performance centre, and Audubon International certification.
Apes Hill’s new ranking could raise Barbados’s profile among affluent golf travelers, potentially increasing bookings for villas, restaurants and local services. That may support hospitality jobs and nearby businesses, while also intensifying pressure on water, land and infrastructure if visitor numbers rise. Golf media recognition may encourage other Caribbean resorts to pursue similar design, lodging and environmental certifications, though the actual effects will depend on how travel demand and management evolve.
