Laporta praises Fabregas as Barcelona managerial rumors persist

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has complimented Cesc Fabregas’s work as Como coach, saying he appreciates the Spaniard’s approach. Laporta noted Fabregas understands Barcelona’s style and has implemented something similar in Italy. When asked about a possible return to Camp Nou, Laporta said the club is content with its current manager, Hansi Flick.
Laporta made the remarks to Corriere della Sera while discussing Fabregas’s work at Serie A club Como. He praised the Spaniard’s mentality and said Como now reflect a Barcelona-like style, adding that a Champions League meeting would be appealing.
When asked about a Camp Nou return, Laporta instead endorsed current manager Hansi Flick, who is contracted through 2028. Fabregas is reportedly able to leave Como for Barcelona if the Catalan club makes an approach.
For Barcelona supporters and Spanish football followers, the speculation may shape expectations about future coaching leadership, while Como fans could worry that success might attract bigger clubs. The comments could also influence media narratives around managerial stability and player-to-coach transitions. If Fabregas eventually returns, it may affect club identity, ticket demand, and youth development, though any concrete impact remains uncertain while Flick is in charge.
