Bulls Swap Marquel Sutton for Jalen Bridges

Chicago waived forward Marquel Sutton and signed wing Jalen Bridges. Sutton had joined the Bulls after playing for Sacramento’s Summer League team, while Bridges spent most of last season with the Maine Celtics in the G League. Both players are 6-foot-7 and could end up with the Windy City Bulls.
Chicago announced it released forward Marquel Sutton and added wing Jalen Bridges. Sutton, 6-foot-7, had signed with the Bulls on Saturday after appearing for Sacramento in Summer League, where he posted 8.8 points and 4.8 rebounds across eight games while shooting 51.2% from the field, 38.9% from three, and 80% at the line.
Bridges, also 6-foot-7, logged 30.4 minutes in eight games for Phoenix two seasons ago. Boston added then cut him last season, and he spent most of the year with Maine in the G League, averaging 14.1 points and 1.5 steals in 32.5 minutes while making 37.2% of his threes. Windy City acquired his G League returning rights from Maine earlier this week.
This roster churn may matter most to the players, their families, and G League affiliates, as a waived forward could gain a bonus if he stays 60 days with Windy City, while the incoming wing may get another NBA look. For fans, it is a minor transaction, but it could shape Windy City's roster and give local audiences a chance to see two 6-foot-7 wings develop. It may also show how NBA teams use affiliate assignments to manage depth and develop talent.
