FIGC Names Initial Candidate Venues for Euro 2032 Hosting

The Italian Football Federation has submitted a provisional group of 13 cities and 14 stadiums as possible Euro 2032 venues. The tournament will be co-hosted by Italy and Turkey, and UEFA has not yet scheduled a date for final selections. Juventus’s Allianz Stadium is currently the only venue meeting all 125 UEFA requirements, while several proposed sites still need construction or renovation.
The FIGC has formally entered 13 cities and 14 stadiums into the early race for Euro 2032, a tournament Italy will share with Turkey. UEFA has not fixed when it will narrow the field. Juventus’s Allianz Stadium is presently the sole candidate satisfying all 125 criteria. Advancing past this initial stage would unlock access to public funding tied to the project, which IlSole24Ore estimates could drive €5B in infrastructure spending.
Several bids rely on venues not yet built: Bologna, Verona, Milan, and Cagliari. Most other proposals involve major upgrades, some already in progress. Two expressions of interest were left out from the start: a proposed Flaminio redevelopment in Rome and a second Naples stadium.
If Italy’s Euro 2032 hosting plans advance, host cities could see new or upgraded stadiums, transport links, and tourism, potentially benefiting local businesses and fans. Residents may also face disruption, rising costs, or displacement during construction. Public funding decisions could shape how widely those benefits are shared. The final venue list may influence regional investment and civic pride, though actual outcomes remain uncertain.
