WWE Reportedly Planning Broader AAA Licensing Push For 2027
A report indicates WWE will expand its licensing of AAA in 2027 after recent AAA events and talk of a possible TV deal. The planned agreements are said to include AAA wrestlers in Topps trading cards, Funko Pop! figures, and WWE 2K27. WWE bought AAA during WrestleMania 41 weekend, and AAA's weekly show currently streams on WWE's YouTube channel and airs on Fox in Mexico and Latin America.
WWE's reported 2027 licensing expansion follows its purchase of AAA over WrestleMania 41 weekend. Since the acquisition, AAA performers have appeared on WWE's main roster and NXT. AAA's weekly program currently streams Saturdays on WWE's YouTube channel and airs on Fox in Mexico and Latin America. The company has also been pursuing a domestic TV agreement, with reports linking that goal to Triplemania night one being staged in Las Vegas.
The planned deals reportedly cover AAA stars in Topps card sets, Funko Pop! vinyl figures, and WWE 2K27. Some AAA names already appeared in the current WWE game, largely through Ringside Pass. Existing merchandise includes AAA-branded QuBee fidget cubes and the Big Shots plush line.
The expansion may give AAA performers greater visibility beyond wrestling broadcasts, potentially reaching collectors, gamers, and casual fans through cards, toys, and video games. That could strengthen AAA's brand in Mexico, Latin America, and beyond, while giving WWE more ways to monetize a niche audience. Fans may see more crossover merchandise, though overexposure or diluted identity could be concerns.
