Ryde Takes First BSB Race at Donington Park

Kyle Ryde won the opening British Superbike race at Donington Park, beating Ryan Vickers and Bradley Ray. Ryde fell to fifth early but fought back through the field and passed Vickers for the lead. Scott Redding finished fourth, with Max Cook rounding out the top five.
Kyle Ryde’s Donington Park victory came at his home event and strengthened the title defence he is mounting in pursuit of a third BSB crown. After losing places at the start, he recovered through the order, eventually getting past Ryan Vickers for the lead and holding him off to the flag.
Bradley Ray completed the podium, while Scott Redding was fourth and Max Cook fifth. The result leaves Ryde on 484 points, ahead of Redding on 409 and Ray on 369, with Vickers on 311 and Leon Haslam on 308. Haslam took sixth after earlier weekend trouble, followed by Danny Kent, Storm Stacey, Joe Talbot and Christian Iddon.
Ryde’s home win and increased championship lead could heighten interest in the remaining British Superbike rounds, drawing more attention from fans, broadcasters and sponsors. That may benefit teams and circuits through greater engagement, while Donington-area businesses could see modest visitor spending around race weekends. For riders, the result may shape momentum and pressure in the title fight, affecting how competitors, manufacturers and supporters follow the season’s closing stages. The wider public impact may be limited to motorsport audiences, though the story could reinforce the series’ local and national profile.
