Jezelle Banks Narrows College Choices to Three, Sets Commitment Date
Point guard Jezelle "GG" Banks has narrowed her college choices to South Carolina, LSU, and Texas. The fourth-ranked prospect in the 2027 class will announce her commitment on October 9 in Delaware. She recently visited South Carolina and was watched by Dawn Staley and Jolette Law in Las Vegas.
Banks, a 2027 point guard ranked No. 4 nationally, is weighing South Carolina, LSU and Texas. She will announce Oct. 9 in Delaware. Her South Carolina visit came around Sept. 18 with Jordyn Palmer and Taylor Brown. Dawn Staley and Jolette Law later watched Banks in Las Vegas, where she scored 24 in St. James Academy's 67-64 win over Ontario Christian and Kaleena Smith.
She also won U18 AmeriCup gold with Team USA, posting 13.8 points and 6.2 assists per game across five contests. The 5-10 guard appeared in the WNBA All-Star Weekend Shooting Stars event, hitting Washington's winning shot, and was twice Delaware's Gatorade Player of the Year before transferring to St. James Academy in Maryland.
This decision may shape fan interest and media attention around women's college basketball, especially among South Carolina, LSU and Texas supporters. It could influence recruiting momentum for the chosen program and raise visibility for Banks and her future teammates. For young athletes, her process may highlight the growing attention around elite girls' basketball, while local Delaware fans could take pride in a top prospect with state ties.
