WERA and AMA Introduce 400/E Superstock Triple Crown for Grand National Finals

WERA Motorcycle Roadracing and the AMA will hold a Triple Crown for 400/E Superstock at the 54th Annual WERA Grand National Finals from October 22-25, 2026, at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama. The event features three races over the final two days, with combined points deciding the champion. The 400/E Superstock class is one of WERA's largest and serves as an entry point for many new riders.
WERA, established in 1973, holds races across the country under AMA co-sanctioning and offers entry-level Sportsman, Pro-Am National Challenge, Vintage, and Endurance competition. It received AMA Track Organizer of the Year honors in 2017 and 2024. The AMA, founded in 1924, sanctions U.S. motorcycle competition and advocates for riders.
The Grand National Finals closes WERA’s season and attracts competitors from around the country to Barber Motorsports Park for national titles across many classes. The 400/E Superstock category has become one of WERA’s biggest, using accessible machines and often serving as a first racing step. Its Triple Crown combines three races’ points.
This could give amateur road racers, especially newcomers on smaller-displacement machines, a clearer path to recognition at a major season finale. Teams, families, and local businesses around Birmingham may see modest attention from participants and spectators. By elevating an entry-level class, the event may encourage more riders to try organized competition, though its broader societal reach likely remains within the motorsport community.
