Canadiens and Jets Reveal Heritage Classic Uniforms

The Canadiens and Jets released their jerseys for the 2026 Heritage Classic, which will be played outdoors in Winnipeg on Oct. 25. Winnipeg's white uniform uses felt cresting and chain-stitched details inspired by the 1980s and 1990s, while Montreal's red sweater includes a redesigned CH crest and the first-ever 'Les Habitants' inside the collar. The jerseys went on sale Wednesday through Fanatics, NHLShop and team stores.
The Canadiens and Jets will play the 2026 Heritage Classic outdoors at Winnipeg’s Princess Auto Stadium on Oct. 25. Winnipeg’s white jersey draws on 1980s and 1990s styling, with felt cresting, chain-stitched accents, matching two-layer felt back numbers, a jet graphic along the hem, and a loop label based on the team’s pants logo. Adam Lowry modeled it.
Montreal’s red jersey uses vintage off-white trim. Its redrawn CH crest references older versions and features felt with running-stitch detail. The back collar includes “Les Habitants” for the first time, while the loop label has a fleur-de-lis. Fanatics, NHLShop, and team stores began selling the jerseys Wednesday, with broader retail starting Oct. 8.
The outdoor Heritage Classic may give Winnipeg a notable civic and tourism moment, drawing fans, local businesses, and broadcast viewers. The jerseys could boost merchandise sales for Fanatics, NHLShop, and team stores while giving Canadiens and Jets supporters a shared collectible tied to nostalgia. For younger fans, the event may also introduce older uniform styles and team nicknames, though its broader social effect may remain within hockey culture and the host city’s economy.
