Zoma returns to Nuremberg after first Italy cap, targets promotion

Mohamed Alì Zoma has returned to Nuremberg after making his senior Italy debut as a substitute in a 2-0 loss to Belgium in Rome on 25 September. The 22-year-old, who joined Nuremberg in 2025, is the leading scorer in Bundesliga 2 and hopes his international experience will help him score more goals. Nuremberg, coached by Miroslav Klose, are aiming for promotion to the German top flight for the first time since 2019.

Zoma, 22, returned to Nuremberg after earning his first Italy cap. He entered as a substitute in a 2-0 home loss to Belgium in Rome on 25 September. He was unused in a 1-1 draw in France on 2 October. His father came from Burkina Faso, while Zoma was born in Italy; he debuted for AlbinoLeffe in November 2021 and once studied patisserie alongside football.
