Michelin Star Highlights Dining at Solheim Cup Host Bernardus

Nami by Bernardus, the restaurant at Bernardus Golf in Cromvoirt, earned a Michelin star at the 2026 Netherlands guide ceremony on October 5. The venue relaunched from Noble Kitchen less than six months earlier and now serves Nikkei cuisine under chefs Tom Schoonus and Carlo Lago. Bernardus hosted the 2026 Solheim Cup in September, where Europe defeated the United States 15–13.
Nami by Bernardus earned its star at the 2026 Netherlands MICHELIN Guide event in Maastricht. The restaurant had previously operated as Noble Kitchen, which had been starred since 2020, before its May rebrand. Tom Schoonus and Carlo Lago now lead a kitchen focused on Nikkei cooking, blending Japanese and South American traditions.
The redesigned room, overseen by Pieter Laureys, includes warm lighting, a suspended sculptural feature and large wine cabinets. A Chef’s Table seats up to 16. Michelin inspectors noted Japanese-Peruvian dishes such as red snapper ceviche, lamb-neck mole taco and Argentine prawn sushi, with robata grilling adding another element.
The Michelin star could raise Bernardus’s profile beyond golf, drawing food-focused visitors to Cromvoirt and nearby ’s-Hertogenbosch. That may benefit local hospitality and tourism, while giving Solheim Cup spectators and golf-break travelers another reason to extend stays. It might also increase demand for the restaurant and Lodge, though the impact on the wider Dutch dining scene is likely modest. For golf venues, it may signal that pairing championship play with destination dining can strengthen visitor appeal.
