Nazar Handed Two-Game Suspension for Hit on Horvat
The NHL suspended Blackhawks forward Frank Nazar for two games after a hit to the head on Islanders captain Bo Horvat. Nazar will forfeit $68,041.14 and miss games against Carolina and Pittsburgh, with eligibility to return Oct. 15 versus Winnipeg. Horvat was still being evaluated, while Nazar had two goals and three points in five games for a Chicago team off to a 1-4-0 start.

The league's player safety office issued the ban Friday evening after reviewing Nazar's third-period collision with Horvat in New York. Nazar received a match penalty on the play. The punishment costs him $68,041.14, which is directed to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund. This is his first NHL suspension.
