Bezzecchi Leads MotoGP FP2 at Mandalika
Marco Bezzecchi posted the quickest lap in Saturday's second MotoGP practice session at Indonesia's Pertamina Mandalika Circuit. The Aprilia Racing rider's 1:29.560 put him ahead of 21 other competitors. Raul Fernandez was next, followed by Marc Marquez, Fabio Di Giannantonio, and Jorge Martin.
Marco Bezzecchi’s fastest FP2 lap at Mandalika was 1:29.560, set on an Aprilia Racing RS-GP26 with spec Michelin rubber. He topped the session ahead of 21 rivals, with Raul Fernandez second on the Trackhouse Aprilia at 1:29.734. Marc Marquez took third for Lenovo Ducati, while Fabio Di Giannantonio and Jorge Martin completed the top five.
The session followed Friday running in which Bezzecchi had led FP1 and Fernandez had set the lap record in afternoon practice. Saturday’s order also placed Aprilia and Ducati machinery at the front, with Martin, Bezzecchi’s teammate, fifth at 1:29.948.
Bezzecchi’s FP2 lead may boost interest in MotoGP’s Indonesian round, potentially drawing more local spectators and media attention. Stronger attention could benefit Mandalika-area tourism and businesses, while giving Aprilia and Ducati fans a close front-running narrative. For riders and teams, the result may shape qualifying strategy and confidence, though practice outcomes do not determine race results.
