Vegas defenseman Wotherspoon sidelined week-to-week

The Vegas Golden Knights announced Monday that defenseman Parker Wotherspoon will miss time on a week-to-week basis with an upper-body injury. The team did not say when or how the injury occurred. Wotherspoon played 19:05 in Saturday's overtime win over Los Angeles and has averaged 18:16 through his first six games this season.
Vegas disclosed Monday that Parker Wotherspoon, a 29-year-old defenseman from Surrey, British Columbia, is considered week-to-week because of an upper-body issue. The club has not explained when or how it happened. He logged 19:05 in Saturday’s overtime victory against Los Angeles, contributing three hits and one blocked shot.
Across his first six appearances this season, Wotherspoon has recorded five hits and five blocked shots while averaging 18:16 per game. He joined Vegas in an offseason trade with Pittsburgh and is in the final year of a two-year, $2 million deal carrying a $1 million cap hit.
Wotherspoon’s absence may test Vegas’s defensive depth and force coaches to adjust pairings or ice-time distribution. Teammates and fans could feel the short-term uncertainty, while other blueliners may receive larger roles. If the injury lingers, the club’s early-season momentum and playoff positioning could be affected, though week-to-week status often leaves room for a relatively quick return.
