Hertha Berlin aim for eighth straight win at Holstein Kiel on Bundesliga 2 Matchday 8
Hertha Berlin have opened the 2026/27 Bundesliga 2 campaign with seven wins and next travel to Holstein Kiel, who are still searching for their first victory. Wolfsburg and Heidenheim, both back in the second division after relegation, face each other on Saturday. The Matchday 8 schedule also features Energie Cottbus versus Nuremberg and Hannover against St. Pauli.
Hertha Berlin have made a flawless start to the 2026/27 Bundesliga 2 season, winning all seven of their matches so far. Their next test comes Friday at Holstein Kiel, a side still without a victory and sitting at the bottom of the table. Energie Cottbus versus Nuremberg is also scheduled for that evening.
Saturday’s fixtures include Wolfsburg against Heidenheim, two clubs back in the second tier after relegation. Kaiserslautern face Bochum, Greuther Fürth meet Eintracht Braunschweig, and Hannover play St. Pauli. On Sunday, Karlsruhe face Darmstadt, Dynamo Dresden take on Magdeburg, and Arminia Bielefeld meet Osnabrück.
Hertha’s perfect run could raise expectations among their supporters and attract more neutral viewers to Bundesliga 2, while Holstein Kiel’s winless start may weigh on local fan morale. The Wolfsburg–Heidenheim meeting may resonate with communities adjusting to second-tier football after relegation, affecting attendance, local business activity and media interest. For players and staff, such early-season results could shape confidence and pressure, though the wider social impact is likely modest and largely confined to club followers and matchday economies.
