British Superbike Reveals 2027 Schedule and New Technical Era
British Superbike announced its 2027 schedule, which will introduce a new Next Generation technical platform intended to improve competition, manufacturer variety, and cost control. The 11-round season starts at Oulton Park over the May Bank Holiday weekend and includes visits to Donington Park, Knockhill, Snetterton, Brands Hatch, Thruxton, Cadwell Park, and Assen before the Brands Hatch finale. Two official tests are planned, at Donington Park in March and Oulton Park before the opening round.
The 2027 British Superbike season is set for 11 rounds. It opens at Oulton Park over the May bank holiday weekend, then goes to Donington Park twice, plus Knockhill, Snetterton, Brands Hatch, Thruxton, Cadwell Park and Assen. Brands Hatch hosts the final round. Two pre-season test dates are planned: Donington Park in March and Oulton Park before the opener.
A new Next Generation technical package will underpin the year. Its stated goals are closer racing, more manufacturers on the grid and tighter cost control, while keeping BSB as a top domestic motorcycle racing series.
The 2027 changes could affect teams, riders, manufacturers and suppliers by altering development costs and competitive balance. Supporters and host communities around circuits may see shifts in attendance, travel and local spending as the calendar unfolds. If the Next Generation rules work as intended, the series may become more accessible to smaller outfits, though outcomes remain uncertain and depend on implementation.
