Muheim strikes late again as Hamburg edge Stuttgart

Miro Muheim scored an 88th-minute long-range goal to give Hamburg a 1-0 home win over Stuttgart. It was his second straight Bundesliga match with a late winner, following his 94th-minute goal at Hoffenheim. Hamburg have now won three league games in a row for the first time in 16 years.
Muheim's 88th-minute winner against Stuttgart came after Daniel Heuer Fernandes had repeatedly denied the visitors, who had controlled much of the ball. Zakaria El Ouahdi supplied the pass, and Muheim shifted onto his left foot before beating Dennis Seimen from about 25 metres. The shot was recorded at 117 km/h.
The result gave Hamburg a third consecutive Bundesliga victory, a run they had not managed for 16 years. Muheim had also scored a 94th-minute winner at Hoffenheim on Matchday 5, and Fernandes was named the game's top performer. Coach Merlin Polzin saw the win as evidence his side can compete with strong opponents.
Hamburg's late win may lift local morale and strengthen the bond between supporters and the team, especially after years of limited league success. A dramatic home victory could increase short-term attention from casual fans, media and sponsors, while giving players and coaching staff greater confidence. For Stuttgart, the narrow loss may prompt reflection on missed chances and game management. The wider impact may be modest, confined mainly to football culture and the emotions of those following both clubs.
