Carolina Brings Seth Jarvis Back From Injured Reserve

Carolina has removed forward Seth Jarvis from injured reserve after he underwent right shoulder surgery in June. Jarvis practiced in Edmonton on the third line and second power-play unit, though coach Rod Brind’Amour did not definitively say whether he would play Thursday against the Oilers. Jarvis missed 11 games and has recorded three consecutive 30-goal seasons.
Carolina announced in June that Jarvis needed right-shoulder surgery, projecting a four-to-six-month recovery and a possible return between late October and December. Before the team departed on a five-game trip tied to the North Carolina State Fair, there was talk he might join. His activation came after he took full practice reps in Edmonton on a line with Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Jordan Martinook and on the second power play.
The move followed recent injuries to Jordan Staal, Taylor Hall and Mark Jankowski. Jarvis has missed 11 games and owns three straight 30-goal campaigns. Carolina also sent Bradly Nadeau to Chicago and recalled Skyler Brind’Amour.
Jarvis’s possible return may affect Hurricanes fans, teammates, and fantasy-hockey participants by restoring a proven scorer and shifting lineup roles. Local businesses around home games could see modest changes if attendance or interest rises, though one player’s activation is unlikely to have broad societal effects. For sports-medicine observers, the case may illustrate how shoulder surgery recovery timelines are managed cautiously, but any impact remains limited and speculative.
